A trip like no other in the Pacific Northwest!
Four days backpacking around the circumference of Mount St. Helen's, up and over canyons, river crossings, traversing the North side of the mountain which after creating the largest landside in recorded history with is explosion in 1980, has left the land still fighting to regrow, and finally back around with intense scrambling over old volcanic rock. On the fifth day we summit at 8365' and peer (very carefully) into the still smoking crater. This trip is very challenging.
6,000' elevation gain - backpacking
4,500' elevation gain - summit
10,500' total elevation gain
