Queer Backcountry Navigation is back!

Learn how to use a map & compass, follow trails, stay found while traveling in the backcountry.  Learn all of these great skills in a relaxed, comfortable setting, taught by queer instructor. 

Skinner State Park, Hadley, Massachusetts

Part I: 8am-12pm
Learn the basics of maps & navigation. Hands on classroom work, some field work.

Lunch/Break: 12-1pm

Part II: 1pm-5pm
Continuation of Part I, all field work including an orienteering scavenger hunt!

Course limited to 15. For those that attended the basics course last fall, Part 2 is a continuation of what you learned.  A compass for you to use, and take home with you, is included in the cost of the course.

What to Bring:

Water Bottle (There is no water at the site, please bring as much as you need for the day)
Notebook & Pen
Dress appropriately for the weather (rain gear, warm layers)
Optional - Crazy Creek/Camp Chair
