Climbing Gym Meetup - California

Climbing Gym Meetup - California

April 16, 2026 — 6:00pm - 8:00pm PT
Last day to register: April 14, 2026

Join us for queer climbing night in partnership with Queer Ascents! We are partnering with QA for their monthly meetup at the climbing gym in San Luis Obispo. This event is open to all experience levels, including beginners.

We will start with a welcome and stretch circle in the rope climbing area - look for the rainbow flag and the big groups of queers! Queer Ascents folks will be available to answer questions, help belay, and provide climbing tips throughout the night. Participants are welcome to climb in the rope area or the bouldering area.

This event is free to register, but all participants are responsible for getting their own entry to the climbing gym. Options are:
1. Use your gym membership, or buy one at the front desk ($92 a month, with discounts available, as well as a "pay what you can")
2. Buy a day pass ($24, with discounts available)
3. Use a free day pass: there are a limited number of free day passes available at the front desk, just let them know you are here with Queer Ascents. These are first come first serve, so please arrive early if you need one.

More information on gym membership and passes will be sent out after you register. If you have any questions, feel free to send us a message!

  • Information for our land acknowledgment was gathered from nativeland.ca, which provides an estimate of original indigenous land occupation, but does not take into account migratory patterns or movement of the many surrounding communities. We recognize the historical complexity of indigenous movement across the land, and honor with gratitude the many, many surviving native nations whose land we benefit from in our work to diversify the outdoors.
