Stick Season Hike - Western Massachusetts

Stick Season Hike - Western Massachusetts

November 14, 2026 — 10:00am - 1:00 pm ET
Rain Date: November 15, 2026
Last day to register: November 12, 2026

Join us for a 3-mile hike as we explore the forest during stick season! With most of the leaves off the trees, we'll have opportunities to enjoy more open views of the surrounding landscape and observe the forest as it transitions from fall into winter.

This hike features approximately 350 feet of elevation gain and follows a mix of wooded trails, rocky sections, and uneven terrain. One section of the trail involves a steady, sustained incline and thick leaf cover can obscure rocks, roots, and other trail obstacles, making footing less stable and requiring extra attention while walking.

Along the way, we'll pass through hardwood forests, enjoy scenic overlooks, and take time to appreciate the natural features of the area. We'll hike at a relaxed, conversational pace, with opportunities to stop for photos, catch our breath, and explore points of interest along the trail.

Please pack a lunch! We'll plan to stop along the route to eat, rest, and enjoy the company of fellow hikers. This is a great opportunity to spend time outdoors, connect with community, and enjoy a late-autumn hike before winter arrives.

Hikers of all experience levels are welcome, including those who are newer to hiking and comfortable walking 3 miles on uneven terrain with some sustained elevation gain. We'll prioritize staying together as a group, taking breaks as needed, and making sure everyone has an enjoyable experience.

The exact meeting location, parking information, and additional details will be shared with registered participants.
