LEAD WITH TVOP
Interested in teaming up?
Our instructors and volunteers are at the heart of our mission, and help us towards our goal of providing hikes and day events for queer and trans people within a day’s drive of their hometowns, nationwide.
All of our leaders are TVOP trained and are required to obtain their Wilderness First Aid/Wilderness First Responder, depending on type of engagement. WFA certification available through TVOP.

TVOP staff members are an intergenerational team of LGBTQ+ & allied community members, outdoor professionals, & adventure enthusiasts who value sustainability (both in work and outdoor recreation), honesty, challenge as choice, and people-first thinking.

We at The Venture Out Project are committed to providing wilderness trips to anyone within the queer community, regardless of financial constraints. We aim to keep the cost of our trips low, but we know that they still remain out of reach for many members of our community. As a non-profit organization, every dollar we collect in tuition goes directly to program costs, but that still does not cover the complete cost of our operations.
