Queer Fall Foliage Hike - Albuquerque, New Mexico

Queer Fall Foliage Hike - Albuquerque, New Mexico

October 12, 2025 — 8:00 am - 1:00 pm MDT
Last day to register: October 10, 2025

Join The Venture Out Project ABQ for a queer fall foliage hike!

We will be enjoying the shifting of the seasons together in the Manzano Mountains with an option to check out the Manzano Mountain Retreat's Apple Festival afterwards.

This is a moderate hike. This trail features a considerable amount of elevation gain and offers stunning views of the valleys as you progress down it. The route is a mixture of a singletrack trail and some road walking. Sun and shade can be found along various parts of the route. The terrain is uneven and the hike is about 5 miles. Loose rock and gravel exist in some steep places. We will go at a slow pace, and we won’t leave anyone behind.

This event is intended for the LGBTQIA+ community, and is open to all ages. We ask folks under the age of 18 to please register themselves and an adult to accompany them. This event is free to attend, with optional donations welcomed.

If you require a service dog to attend, please let us know and we’ll collaborate with you on how to keep you both comfortable and hydrated at this event.

  • Information for our land acknowledgment was gathered from nativeland.ca, which provides an estimate of original indigenous land occupation, but does not take into account migratory patterns or movement of the many surrounding communities. We recognize the historical complexity of indigenous movement across the land, and honor with gratitude the many, many surviving native nations whose land we benefit from in our work to diversify the outdoors.
